What is the constant struggle?

Discussing with a friend and she trying to understand why there is this commotion in her head when something doesn't go as expected, we realized something very interesting. There seems to be no issue with what had happened, the real issue is that we do not want to be upset with what had happened but are upset.

The struggle is about not letting the negative emotions take us over. In the movie Matrix Revolutions, Smith being the negative emotion is alive as long as Neo is fighting and trying to win. Neo knows he cannot win but still keeps fighting. Similarly we keep our anger alive as long as we are fighting it. Let it take over, feel the anger taking over, let it be for while. Once it has taken over it will disappear and with it the fighter on the side.

Letting it be doesn't mean not doing anything, it just means stopping struggling to change the past and fully feeling our every emotion.

I am very expressive, I can't hide my emotions. Anger, frustration, happiness, disgust etc... I force it out all. I think it all depends how the other person takes this emotional outburst. For me , when I vent out, I feel good :)
