Where do desires come from?

Desires are created by the “me-sense” so that it has a reason to live. It bases these desires on the premise that execution of each desire must bring satisfaction and fulfillment/happiness as a direct effect. The program creates these desires as and when it knows about the existence of various possibilities.

The most important way we know about these possibilities are though our social network. As we talk to people and find out that they seem to be happier as they have a better job, bigger house, went to Australia for vacation or have a successful business. Soon a desire is created to do the same and a fulfillment factor is linked to it.

Let’s imagine you found out that you can afford the latest car in the market, the next instant a desire is generated to get that car and a fulfillment/happiness factor is attached to it. If for some reason you cannot get that car you feel unhappy or dissatisfied with your life because at that moment that desire (car) was the prime purpose of your life.

Its true that every human or in fact every animal has desire in him/her right from the age of Adam and Eve..But if desire is not there then I feel there is no meaning of life and one will be considered as GOD.But there is a difference between desire and ambition.Ambition can be fulfilled by efforts or hard work or some means. And if a ambition is achieved then every body feels great and if not one feels disappointed.
Some children have the ambition to become computer engineer and from high school onward they start working on that Some stusent avhieves it but some are not.Are you talking about ambition or?

Here I am trying to say that desire or ambition (as a type of desire)
is really not the reason for your existence - its not the purpose of
your life. Unless it was chosen to be by you.

For most people desires and ambitions just come about and slowly seem
to become the purpose of their life. And when that ambition is not met
they become very sad and may even go into a negative spiral.

Instead I am suggesting that we know that most of these desires and
ambitions are mere mere "carrots" created for us to keep going
forward. By realizing this - we will have the freedom to create a
purpose in our life without giving into the automatic stuff that is
happening in our mind every day.
